Aged care Wage comparison tool

AGED CARE WORKERS - what are YOU missing out on?

Aged care workers’ wages have fallen way behind cost-of-living increases for years and years.

The current wages also do not reflect your increased responsibilities or recognise the important and complex work you do looking after older Australians.

Enter your hourly pay rate to find out how much YOUR wages have fallen behind, and how much YOU are missing out on.

Remember: aged care workers need a pay correction AND a pay rise.

This is an online tool designed to help aged care workers share information about the low wages in the aged care sector. The information may contain errors or inaccuracies. This tool’s calculations are based on the assumption an aged care worker on an enterprise agreement received an hourly rate of $21.56 in 2010 and the $29.13 they would have received if their salary had increased by the 36 per cent rate of non-discretionary inflation over the period between 2010-11 and 2021-22.

All figures are nominal.
