ALL AGED CARE WORKERS DESERVE A PAY RISE!

ANGRY ABOUT SUPPORT WORKERS GETTING LEFT BEHIND ON JUNE 30?

It is not fair that aged care workers in cleaning, laundry, catering and maintenance are missing out on the 15% work value case pay correction on June 30, and have been left waiting to find out if they’ll get the Work Value Case pay correction from Fair Work. ALL aged care workers have been underpaid and overworked for too long.

Together, union members are still fighting for EVERY aged care worker to receive the pay correction they deserve.

Fed up aged care workers are standing together in their union and forming an organising committee to keep fighting for a fair pay correction for ALL support workers at the Fair Work Commission, in workplaces and in the community.

Register your details below and your aged care union will contact you about how YOU can get involved in the fight for a fair pay rise for support workers.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

The Work Value Case is a claim by the United Workers Union and two other unions, the HSU and the ANMF, for a 25% pay correction for ALL aged care workers.

Unfortunately, Fair Work split the Work Value case into three stages, delaying a decision on awarding pay rises to whole sections of the aged care workforce. The Fair Work Commission still needs to make its final decision about whether support workers will be included in the aged care pay rise.

In Stage 3 of the case, the Fair Work Commission will hear evidence from union members about why aged care workers in cleaning, laundry, catering and maintenance are essential to delivering quality aged care, and deserve the same pay correction as their “direct care” co-workers.

All aged care workers know that laundry, cleaning, catering and maintenance are essential to delivering the quality care residents and home care clients need. It’s only right that they receive the 15 per cent pay increase as well.

The fight to win an aged care pay rise is not over, and aged care workers will not stand for some workers to be left behind!
