To: Ballina RSL Club

We the undersigned workers at Ballina RSL Club, call on the Club to commit to financial support for their workers through this lockdown.

We believe we should receive the same respect and recognition that workers in other clubs in our region and state of NSW are receiving from their management.

Other clubs such as Cherry St Sports Club, Seagulls Club, Twin Towns Services Club, Coffs Cex, Glen Innes District Services Club, Port Panthers and West Tamworth Leagues Club in the northern to mid NSW area have committed to either paying their workers rostered hours or providing a top up payment to the Government payment.

Many other clubs, subject to earlier lockdown orders, such as Doyalson Wyee RSL, Mounties and Mingara, Blacktown Workers, Gosford RSL, Wyong Leagues, Moonee Moonee RSL, Dooley’s Lidcombe Catholic Club, Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL and Norths Sydney Leagues Group have provided additional financial support for their staff by paying staff their rostered hours, in some cases for up to 4 weeks, which has significantly alleviated the burden on their staff. They have redeployed staff in some cases and not stood them down, they have provided top ups to the disaster payment or gift cards to help workers by groceries for their families.

It is critical that Ballina RSL Club are committed to all workers including casuals during this pandemic to show their commitment to their community. Club workers are the heart of the community.
