CHRIS PICTON - LISTEN TO ESSENTIAL WORKERS

tell THE SA HEALTH MINISTER: WE NEED TO GET TO WORK!

We all know that SA health workers continue to work hard on the frontline of community services going above and beyond to keep the health system running and keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It seems the SA Government has forgotten how essential health workers are to the community, with the recent announcement to wind back the provision of free car parking and public transport for health workers by the end of this month!

These initiatives were introduced in April 2020 in recognition for the work of members on the frontline and also to avoid transmission of the virus on public transport. The Government’s line is that it was only available for the duration of the emergency declaration – but essential health workers are working harder now than ever and COVID is still well and truly in the community with a peak again predicted by mid-July.

Your United Workers Union has written to the Minister, but this letter has gone unanswered!

It’s now time to make it clear to the Minister for Health that SA’s essential health workers deserve free car parking and public transport.

Email the Minister and let him know essential workers who care for those in our community should be cared for too!

Chris Picton – listen to essential workers!
