We would love to see you at our Climate Action Group meeting coming up on Tuesday, June 28!

This is a chance for union members to debrief together after the extreme flooding in NSW/QLD and record breaking heat in WA. We will share stories of workers’ experience of living and organising through these events, and an update on UWU’s outreach and support for impacted members.

Hear about what the broader union movement is up to in the climate space, followed by an update and space for reflection on the recent Federal election results and what it means for climate action.

We will discuss what it looks like for a union like ours to go zero emissions, and a possible campaign around Disaster & Emergency Services leave. We also hope to be able to collectively endorse some ‘climate action’ proposals to send to the UWU Member Convention in July.

These meetings are opportunities to share stories, keep updated, strategize together, and build relationships between UWU members across industries. We hope you can come along in this spirit, and continue to energise our Union efforts towards climate action!
