Cleaners employed by Compass Group at the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) at Osborne SA had our wages cut by between 15-21% in 2012 when the last ALP federal government was in power.

The federal Liberal Governments and its ASC business between 2013 and May 2022 have allowed this wage cut to continue by awarding cleaning contracts to companies with cleaners being paid lower rates of pay than the Cleaning Services Award.

We’re calling on Senator Karen Grogan to:

• direct the ASC to reinstate the Cleaning Services Award rates of pay and conditions for ASC cleaners with appropriate back pay.
• meet with a UWU delegation of cleaners at the ASC to discuss the impact of this wage cut on hard working cleaners.
