Position

 We are seeking applications to fill a Pre-Press and Digital Print Operator position. The position is part of the national political team and has responsibility for ensuring internal and external print materials are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

The United Workers Union are looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to work in our busy print room. This is a highly active and physical role, requiring multitasking and the ability to work efficiently in high stress situations

The position is full-time and is based in Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Union’s values of equity, diversity and inclusion are upheld and promoted.
  • Pre-press and file preparation for print.
  • Running and maintaining of digital large and small format print equipment.
  • Running and maintaining of cutting, folding and inserting equipment.
  • Cleaning and organising of print room.
  • Maintaining stock levels.
  • Receiving, Dispatching, and booking deliveries.
  • Heavy lifting following the WH & S Protocols.
  • Picking and packing Union merchandise.

 

Key Selection Criteria

A Pre-Press and Digital Print Operator demonstrates:

  • A passion and drive to achieve the goals of the Union.
  • Experience as a pre-press and digital print operator preferred;
  • Ability to work flexible arrangements and hours including weekends where required;
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to be self-motivated, energetic and use initiative;
  • Work effectively in high stress situations.
  • Experience with picking and packing/dispatching materials.
  • Liaising with internal and external clients in a polite and professional manner

To perform this job you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:

  • A valid driver’s licence;

 

Skills that desirable but not essential are:

  • Obtain a Forklift licence
  • Held previous experience in the creation of quotes and estimating prices.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with Enfocus Pitstop.
  • Experience with Konica Digital Printers.
  • Experience with HP wide format printers.

 

Remuneration

 An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include:

  • Salary $59,032-$67,221 (Based on demonstrated skills and experience);
  • 16% superannuation
  • 6 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading
