important information on strike action
* Under Australia’s industrial relations laws, protected industrial action like strikes can only be taken in limited circumstances by workers who are currently in bargaining and and where their union is genuinely trying to reach agreement with the employer in question. Workers must also be a member of UWU to participate in UWU action. All UWU members will have received information from UWU if this applies you. If you’re unsure whether this applies to you, you can speak to your UWU Workplace Delegate or Organiser, or call the Member Contact Line in your state (link to https://unitedworkers.org.au/contact/#localoffices).
