At recent Climate Action Group meetings members requested we host a climate science workshop for UWU members.
We’ve arranged a workshop with Dr Lesley Hughes from the Climate Council on Tuesday August 17, 6:30-8:00pm (AEST).
This workshop will:
- Provide an opportunity to get together as Union members who are concerned about and impacted by climate change.
- Help us better understand the basics of climate science
- Provide an update on what the climate science says in 2021 and what this means for workers and communities in Australia
- Identify key areas for action – both in reducing emissions and preparing our places of work and our communities to maintain our safety and quality of life as the impacts of climate change become more serious.
- Provide a space and opportunity for members to collectively discuss what this means for us, our workplaces and our communities.
